A new book reviews the songs of the late, great Donna Summer. Author Tony Madison II calls his FINDAGROOV™ [“find a groove”] collection of books a “celebration of Black music.” The series shines a spotlight on the meaning and relevance of the songs by a number of artists, focusing primarily on classic soul and R&B, funk, disco, jazz, old school hip hop, gospel, and related genres.
Available on both paperback and e-book format, The Donna Summer entry covers all her recorded music from the late sixties up to her passing in 2012 as well as duets, live performances, and other rarities. Madison says one of the purposes of the book is to show that the late Donna Summer was far more than just a disco singer. It also includes detailed reviews and breakdowns on the lyrics to all her songs including the hits, such as “Bad Girls,” “She Works Hard For The Money,” and “Love To Love You Baby.”
