As a writer, motivational speaker and radio show host, Michael Baisden has proven himself a trailblazer. He first achieved notoriety via his book Never Satisfied: How and Why Men Cheat, selling hundreds of thousands of copies and quickly becoming one of the most successful writers on relationships, with a particular resonance in the African American community. He followed it with the even more successful Men Cry in the Dark (which later became a successful stage play) and The Maintenance Man. Keeping his finger on the pulse of modern adult relationships and using his playful-yet-probing style, Baisden launched his radio show, Love Lust & Lies, in 2003 and immediately jumped to number 1 in his time slot in New York. Similar success followed nationally through syndication of his show. Michael used his pulpit to also champion soul music, providing a national audience for talented artists often ignored on modern urban radio. His "B-Side" segment became a show highlight and a prime venue for both classic and modern soul artists looking for national exposure. At a time when radio is overly enamored with hip-hop and teenage sounds, Baisden's commitment to "grown folks" music and artists has been essential and his "B-Side" has become one of the brightest spots of the fast-rising Soul Music movement.
