After years at Motown, in 1979 Ruffin tried to make a fresh start at a new label, and teamed with Detroit producer Don Davis on the album So Soon We Change. He landed a top 10 R&B hit with an emotional ballad, “Break My Heart.” It was a great performance. And while many music fans have forgotten this song, we haven’t.
