Cameo had been around a few years as a moderately popular soul and funk band before the broke out in the 1980s with monster hits like “Word Up.” But a few years earlier, this funk group issued a ballad that has become an absolutely favorite of ours — one of those “blue lights in the basement” type songs that we would slow dance to anytime.
