Cameo had been around a few years as a moderately popular soul and funk band before the broke out in the 1980s with monster hits like “Word Up.” But sometimes folks forget one of the their quirkiest and most irresistable funk cuts: a 1984 tribute to a woman who was “strange, but I like it.”
