New York based independent music promotion company, One Nation Under The Soul Shack (ONUTSS) which formed in August 2006 is currently preparing to move into a celebratory phase after a dynamically successful year of bringing music loving audiences and independent artists together.  The founders, Detrel Howell and Pamela Nichols launched the company to provide additional opportunities for exposure for independent musicians who are often limited in ways to present their music to eager listeners.  By hosting listening parties on a monthly basis that mainly featured two independent artists, ONUTSS presented opportunities for independent artists the flexibility to perform, solely acapella and to sell their music purely as a result of impressing the crowd.  No admission cost is ever imposed so as not to inhibit the sale of the artists' cds to audience members.  Impressively, in their first year ONUTSS has featured Mike Hammond, Brown Baby Girl  Eric Roberson, Gordon Chambers, Myoshi Marilla, Brown Rice, Elisabeth Withers, Antonia Jenae, Jeremiah, June April, Karen Bernod, Maya Azucena, Rahbi and Anthony Dixon.  In early 2007, they also hosted Kevin Harewood's book release party for "Make Your Move!!!" and most recently, they joined forces with Greenehouse Entertainment for a screening of the documentary, "Before The Music Dies."

Their first anniversary kick-off event will take on Monday, August 20, 2007 from 5:30-8:30pm at 83 Worth Street, NYC.  The sensational Kendra Ross and the equally debonaire Ty Causey will be the featured artists on that evening.  ONUTSS is pleased to present these artists whose music will warm your hearts!
