(February 13, 2026) — After an 11-year break from recording, Jill Scott is back with her sixth studio album, To Whom This May Concern. The project is out now via her Blues Babe imprint in partnership with Human Re Sources/The Orchard and is available digitally, on CD and as a limited-edition gold vinyl LP.
Scott has long moved at her own pace, building one of modern R&B’s most consistent catalogs. From her platinum debut, Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol. 1, to No. 1 albums like The Light of the Sun and Woman, she has balanced critical respect with commercial success. Along the way, she’s earned three Grammy Awards and landed on the New York Times Best Seller list for her poetry collection, The Moments, The Minutes, The Hours.
To Whom This May Concern reflects that same range. The album blends soul, hip-hop, jazz and house without sounding scattered. “Right Here Right Now,” produced by Om’Mas Keith, leans into house influences and salutes the DJs who have long supported her music. “Pressha,” her latest Top 10 R&B radio hit, takes on social pressures and self-image with the direct, conversational style that has always defined her songwriting.
The guest list adds new energy, with appearances from Ab-Soul, JID, Tierra Whack and Too $hort. Production contributions from Adam Blackstone, DJ Premier, Camper, Trombone Shorty and others give the album a full, live feel that bridges generations and styles.
Outside of music, Scott continues to expand her résumé, with screen roles in Why Did I Get Married?, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, Get On Up and a recent appearance on Abbott Elementary. More than two decades into her career, she remains a steady and evolving presence in R&B.
To Whom This May Concern proves the wait was intentional — and worthwhile.
