(July 24, 2024) Vladimir Cetkar’s “Don’t Make Me Wait” is a song that plays up all the Macedonian guitarist’s strengths. Those strengths have been revealed on the three albums that he has released between 2009 and 2019.
Cetkar can merge elements of funk, disco, jazz and R&B into the tunes heard on those albums. He can also incorporate those styles into one song. Cetkar is a vocalist, a songwriter, producer and as a guitarist can improvise with the best of them.
His music usually serves as the soundtrack to a good time, and that’s the case whether Cetkar is doing disco, funk or jazz. That is certainly the case for for “Don’t Make Me Wait,” the latest single from his upcoming album Let Us Be, which drops in September.
The song is about a guy who can’t wait for the good times to begin. The tune’s funk infused bass line that introduces “Don’t Make Me Wait” sets the tone for a party, while the lush strings and horns give the track a disco feel. Cetkar’s guitar work ranges from the soulful licks wedged between the bass to his expansive, jazz infused soloing. Check out Vladimir Cetkar’s “Don’t Make Me Wait” here.
