Incognito leader Bluey to issue 4th solo album, with life reshaped by Parkinson’s disease

(September 26, 2026) We’ve been following the upcoming release of Skint, the new solo album from Incognito founder Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick, and now we have the full details on what promises to be one of the most personal projects of his career.

The 13-track album will arrive physically on CD and double vinyl on October 14, followed by digital download and streaming release on October 16 through Bluey’s Splash Blue label.

SoulTracks readers already received an early taste of the project through our First Listen of the funky title track, “Skint.” But the full album finds the veteran musician, songwriter and producer moving between soul, jazz-funk and Latin-flavored grooves while also addressing a particularly significant period in his life.

Bluey created the album amid his public journey with Parkinson’s disease, and the label describes Skint as a record built around resilience, vulnerability and the restorative power of music. “Music has always been my healer, but on this album, it became my sanctuary,” Bluey says. “Facing Parkinson’s reshaped my relationship with life, creativity, and the movement of my hands on the guitar.”

He also explains that the album title is not really about deprivation, but instead about stripping away distractions and getting back to “passion, truth, and genuine connection.”

The complete Skint track list is:

  1. “Skint”
  2. “Because Of You”
  3. “Bring On The Day”
  4. “Move It Up”
  5. “Repeating Myself”
  6. “All My Favourite Things”
  7. “Show Me”
  8. “It Ain’t Worth It”
  9. “Best Of Me”
  10. “Life Is A Dance”
  11. “Francis Plays The Bass”
  12. “She Plays Me”
  13. “Broken Satellite”

Skint is Bluey’s fourth solo album, another chapter in a career that has stretched more than four decades and includes his leadership of Incognito as well as his work with STR4TA and Citrus Sun.

For an artist whose music has always emphasized optimism, rhythm and connection, Skint appears to bring those qualities into an especially personal setting — and gives longtime Bluey and Incognito fans plenty to look forward to this October.
