(September 12, 2023) A few months ago, we were proud to present a World Premiere of a new song by two great artists with the kinds of careers that have won over both their peers and millions of fans. And now we have the visuals to go along with that special collaboration.

Keiko Matsui is a renowned pianist and composer who has worked with the likes of Miles Davis, Bob James and Stevie Wonder. And over the past three decades she has established herself as among the truly iconic jazz musicians in the world. And for her upcomiing 30th album, Euphoria, on the Shanachie label, she has teamed with a who’s who of legendary artists, including Kirk Whalum, Randy Brecker and Joel Ross.

But one of her collaborations on the album that is particularly attractive to us is the new “Love and Nothing Less,” on which she teams with SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award winner Lalah Hathaway.

Keiko tells us, “The moment the melody first came to me, I immediately could hear Lalah singing and before I even made contact with her, I had written the complete verse melody while imagining her voice. I really admire her as an artist, so I was so happy we had the opportunity to finally collaborate. Her performance is amazing! When I shared my feelings and thoughts about the song, she delicately captured the vibe and spirit of it and transformed it into beautiful words.”

This song is a stunning collaboration that is entrancing in its dramatic movements, and with Lalah’s emotional, melancholic tones up front, the result is as compelling as it is beautiful.

We’re now proud to present the official video of this incredible pairing. Take a look at the video for “Love and Nothing Less” below, and enjoy these masters at work.
