August 8, 2023 – Welcome back to Another Groove, our series devoted to new music that is neither pure soul nor R&B but which has elements of those genres and may please your ears.  This week we feature the track “Atlantic Times” by ZADA.

ZADA is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Ethiopia who was raised in the snow-covered mountains of Whistler, British Columbia.  Her voice is sultry and organic, and her music is a genre-bending exploration of Afrobeat, R&B and soul textures.  Our featured track, a mid-tempo, polyrhythmic paean to love interest that got away, is the first single from her upcoming debut album. Enjoy.
