First Listen: Will Preston doesn’t like “Falling In Love”

(March 28, 2026) If the saying “once bitten, twice shy” had a theme song, it would be “Don’t Like Falling in Love,” the new angst filled ballad by soul man Will Preston. The tune finds Preston working to pick up the pieces of his broken heart while dealing with the conflicting emotions that go with dipping his toe into a new relationship.

He’s hesitant, and if the new woman can’t understand why, Preston passionately and eloquently breaks down the origin story of the reason he is so cautious. Preston went all in on his earlier relationship. The packaging drew him in, and he let his guard down and she hurt him in a way that made him swear off the relationship wars.

However, Preston’s problem is that he’s a romantic at heart, which he makes clear on the song’s hook. “I’m a lover, but I don’t like falling in love.” So now, another woman is showing clear interest, but Preston can’t take the plunge.

“Don’t Like Falling in Love” expresses a sentiment that we can all relate to – the lingering trauma of a heartbreak. “Don’t Like Falling in Love” confirms a truth: we all embrace idea of love, but nobody loves the reality of dating.
