(May 12, 2019) We’ve been writing about young singer Whitney McClain when she was just a teenager, but the young singer, who is a descendant of legendary guitarist Marlon McClain of Pleasure, has continued to develop into a top notch artist with a sense of music history pervading her music.

For her newest single, Whitney mines the classic sound of a Smokey Robinson-style ballad, delivering a mature vocal performance on the kind of jam that is perfect for, well, sitting in front of the fireplace.

It’s great to see this former teenage singer maturing in front of our eyes into a solid R&B artist.

Check out “Fireplace” below, and welcome Whitney back to SoulTracks.
