First Listen: Wade C. Long stops that “Bulljivin”

wadeclong

Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, singer, songwriter and instrumentalist Wade C. Long has a new single that is both fun and familiar. On “Bulljivin’,” Long captures the essence of 80s funk and R&B, delivering a song that is one part Cameo, and one part Kashif with a dash of George Duke mixed in.

While the song is mostly instrumental, the lyrics that are sung by Long echo a time that is filled with great memories, one of a woman who had his attention. However, the lyrics are mostly accents to Long’s musicianship, evidenced by his free-flowing piano solo that carries the second half of the song. It’s meant to be a light, feel-good song and clocking in at a little over 3 minutes, feels just right in its length.

Long has more singles that will be released this year, but for now, give “Bulljivin’” a listen and take a quick trip down memory lane.
