(November 18, 2020) They’ve been one of R&B’s best kept secrets since forming in 2010, but the word has been getting out recently about just how great the four piece band Vintage Trouble is. Consisting of Ty Taylor (vocals), Nalle Colt (guitar), Rick Barrio Dill (bass), and Richard Danielson (drums), Vintage Trouble delivers a sound that is part funk, part soul and even a touch of rock, but is always engaging.
After issuing a series of EPs over the past few years, Vintage Trouble is now pleasing fans with an homage to one of the great song’s from Motown’s heyday. “War” was a smash, anti-Vietnam hit for Edwin Starr, and a charter for Bruce Springsteen a generation later (also make sure to look for the Temptations’ terrific version album cut). And to celebrate the song’s 50th Anniversary of this powerful, in-your-face repudiation of armed conflict, Vintage Trouble gives an uplifting take on the classic. We’ve been holding off posting this until we could show you the terrific video that goes along with the song, and we’re glad we did.
We think SoulTrackers are gonna dig this one. Check out “War” below, and tell us what you think!
