Two legends, one song. Van Morrison has spent his entire career creating his own unique blend of rock and soul, with a mystical overtone over dozens of great albums. For his latest album, he worked with producer Don Was for a series of duets featuring such diverse artists as Steve Winwood, Taj Mahal, Mavis Staples, Michael Bublé, Natalie Cole, George Benson and Gregory Porter.
The first single from the album is a duet with the late, great soul man, Bobby Womack. It is a lush, upbeat cover of Morrison’s Hymns to the Silence track, “Some Peace of Mind.” The collaboration of these two classic singers works even better than we expected, and makes us miss Bobby even more than we did yesterday.
