(July 7, 2021) It can be difficult to let someone go, even after realizing that they are not good for you. Moving on can be difficult, but it is necessary. Singer/songwriter V3nus paints this picture so eloquently on her latest single, “Next Body,” and also looks to make her mark on Soul music with this release.
Set to a midtempo groove paced by percussion and guitar, V3nus talks through the process of realizing that after doing so much in her previous relationship, it was time to move on. Instead of wallowing in sadness, she embraces the idea of a future love by knowing she’s got “all of this love to give to the next body.” It’s a hook that is not only catchy, but helps to bring optimism to a situation that other people may not be able to find. V3nus uses her vocals to set the stage rather confidently and the result is a song that sounds like it came from an industry veteran, instead of a fresh face looking to impact the world.
