(December 2, 2019) Last year, when we discovered Toronto-based R&B band U.N. Jefferson, it was a revelation. With elements of Motown and Stax, the group, fronted by singer/songwriter Ajay Massey, brings the soul but always with a lot of fun.
And just as they delivered the goods on last year’s hit single “Testify,” U.N. Jefferson brings the fun and funk back on the new song, “Shine On Me.” With a running call-and-response between Massey and the band, and a back beat that goes on for days, it is a number sure to make SoulTrackers smile just as much as I did. And the accompanying video just makes it all the better.
