If you go back in the annals of SoulTracks, there are few acts that have uniformly connected with us and our readers like Tortured Soul. The trio’s debut album was one of the most popular albums ever on our charts, and we’ve watched as they’ve taken their unique brand of soulful house music to audiences around the world. So, like fans around the world, we were devastated earlier this year when TS co-founder Ethan White died suddenly and tragically.
Ethan’s death followed the completion of the recording sessions for the first new Tortured Soul album in a half decade. Hot For Your Love Tonight will be released in the U.S. on May 12, and it features the kind of groovalicious music that made Tortured Soul a SoulTracks fave in the first place. And we’re proud to present a Premiere First Listen of the fantastic cut from that album, “I’ll Be There For You,” another ultra hot cut with TS lead vocalist John-Christian Urich doing his thing.
