(August 19, 2021) For 20+ years strong, beauty expert Anthony Walker (aka Tony Walk) has made a name for himself working with some of the biggest names in Hollywood and within the music entertainment industry – from Miki Howard to Ledisi. Now the Los Angeles-based stylist is working on our ears by entering into the realm of music.
In 2020, Walk released a debut album full of covers (Introducing Tony Walk) and he’s continuing the journey with a forthcoming EP loaded with new and original music. The latest single, “The One for You,” drips with smooth R&B nectar, pacing so effortlessly with vibes reminiscent of a futuristic BeBe & CeCe Winans’ “Heaven.” Like a sweet blend of Kem and Jill Scott, the tune showcases Walk’s ascending falsetto and jazzy swoops against a backdrop of sultry backing harmonies. The song’s climax is tucked inside the groovy chorus, when Walk and Company strut their stuff on its flirty lyrics: “Just wanna know ya, babe/Just wanna, wanna hold ya, babe/just wanna, wanna show you, babe.”
