First Listen: Tony Walk does it right on “Love Won’t Let Me Wait”

(June 10, 2020) Vocalist, writer and producer Tony Walk has been singing literally his whole life, and he considers success as being able to handle varying styles and shades of music. He has worked over the years with such stars as Aretha Franklin, Billy Preston, Andrae Crouch, Etta James, Miki Howard, and Vesta Williams, and now he is preparing a new album for himself, with Tony covering a number of classic songs.

To give a sneak peek at the upcoming project, Tony is taking on a two-time hit: “Love Won’t Let Me Wait” was a top 10 hit in 1975 for Major Harris, and then a smash again for Luther Vandross in 1988. For his version, Walk takes a musical approach similar to Vandross’s, but with Walk showing his own vocal chops with an expressive lead that does the song complete justice.

Check out Tony Walk’s take on a classic below, and tell us what you think.
