(March 29, 2019) Hard urban drum pounds, sultry strings and electronica whizzes document the latest from rising contemporary R&B singer-songwriter Tommi Waring. Inside the self-produced bedroom soul offering, the Miami native gets dreamy and intimate, supplying us with wonder-struck adult R&B and crooning like Raheem DeVaughn trapped in a Frank Ocean universe.
As with “Miami,” his previously-released single, “Forever” finds a sweet balance of electro and analog while also allowing Waring to pay tribute to his roots. “[This] just feels so close to home. I really wanted to dial in on where a lot of my music started,” he says. “Whether its city nights or small-town grooves, the fingerprints are all over it.”
