The Womack Sisters bring family legacy to great new song

(February 25, 2026) They are musical legacies and SoulTracks favorites. The Womack Sisters—Kucha, Zeimani, and BG—were raised in a deeply musical family, performing from early childhood alongside their parents (the soul duo Womack & Womack) and Uncle Bobby on stages and in studios around the world. No matter where they lived, music and family remained central to their lives. As they matured, each sister developed her own voice and artistic path shaped by personal experiences.

In 2016, they connected with Daptone co-owner and producer Gabriel Roth, who was immediately captivated by their sound. The sisters burst into our world in 2022 and took it by storm. They won the New Artist of the Year nod in the annual SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards, and moved to the head of the class as one of the bright new vocal groups around.

The Womack Sisters are now back with “You Went Away Too Long,” a deeply soulful ballad that shows the sisters at their best. They tell us about the song, “This song holds a deep meaning that’s different for each of us. Imagine precious time stolen from your life, slipping away like sand through an hourglass, as your loved ones slowly forget the sound of your laughter. ‘You Went Away Too Long’ is a song about love and life interrupted.“

We’re all in on The Womack Sisters and this new song. Check it out below.
