(August 18, 2019) Sure, school has started for many and summer’s on the wane, but that doesn’t mean we still can’t turn up or set off the cookouts with a new groove. Thanks to a combined blend of Bounce music and Go-Go, that new vibe has been achieved, courtesy of The Soul Rebels brand new single, “Good Time.”
The experience and energy anchoring “Good Time,” achieved by pre-eminent stage veterans Go-Go collective, The Soul Rebels, is buttressing a cut-loose, cool-out come-on mid-tempo for a super-fly sister (“I don’t need nobody wastin’ my time, as good as you look Girl it should be a crime”) and young ladies like Denisia and NOLA’s Lady of Bounce, Big Freedia, adding equal doses of saucy and sweet (“Let the music take over, lemme see you mooooove”).
As the first single from The Soul Rebels’ Poetry in Motion album, slated for Oct. 25, “Good Time” shows the party-ready, playful side of seriously focused musicians that are ready to please their long-time followers, while Big Freedia, Denisia and yes, even Passport P, are also helping to take their diverse fans along for the ride.
