First Listen: The Sons of Serendip take classic Whitney in new direction

41vmnrbnwl

They made their mark on America’s Got Talent, and showed that they indeed had talent galore. They’re The Sons of Serendip, a quartet that somehow bridges soul, pop, classical and jazz into something absolutely special.  They just released their debut album, which takes pop classics and arranges them with vocals, cello, harp and piano. It is an immediate hit and is racing up the charts.

One of their songs that is receiving quite a bit of notice is the group’s take on a Whitney Houston classic. Whitney made “How Will I Know” a bouncy dance number, but the Sons of Serendip take it an entirely different direction – lingering on the questioning lyrics and providing lush, sometimes dramatic surroundings. It is like an entirely new song, and a beautiful one at that.

“How Will I Know” is our newest SoulTracks First Listen. Check it out below and get ready to fall in love with the Sons of Serendip.
