(May 22, 2020) Sacramento-rooted band The Gold Souls offer a healthful dose of funky swagger on their new single, “Got It.” Crafted with a seamless brew of rock- and blues-infused soul finesse, the danceable ditty has a distinctly raw instrumental feel heightened by lead vocalist Juniper Waller’s no-nonsense delivery.
It’s easy to get lost in the groove of “Got It”; but there is a meaningful message relayed quite poetically upon close listening. “Said that it could not be done/So I raise my praise back to the sun/She’s growth, love, blinding all the same/On muted days, there’s some complaint/Can’t see her face, ain’t that a shame/But She still shines even when She’s off the stage.”
Composed and produced by the group, “Got It” follows the the Souls’ breakout 2018 album, Good to Feel, and offers plentiful promise of what’s to come for this talented quintet. Check out the tune below and let us know how it moves you!
