First Listen: All-Star vocal group The British Collective is feeling “Romantic”

the_british_collective_romantic

Melding together decades of experience enriching the musical lives of soul fans across the globe, R&B mainstays Junior Giscombe, Leee John (co-founder of Imagination), Omar, Don-E, and Noel McKoy are banding together to create a delightful new vibe for both old-school and new-school devotees. The aptly coined British Collective first joined forces last year on the subtly addictive “Spiritual” from Don-E’s Little Star CD. The chemistry flowed so well that the guys are now embarking on a full-length album, which they’re introducing via the rich melodies and bright groove of “Romantic.” They’ve thrown in a little bit of that ’90s new-jack-swing vibe, while keeping the premise rooted in a timeless ’80s core that sounds remarkably fresh and pure. It’s our latest First Listen here on Soul Tracks, so check out the video below and let us know what you think!
