(October 12, 2025) In a short season for Taylor Ayanna, she has highlighted skills in acting, fashion and as a blossoming singer/songwriter. 2023 was a notable year for this evolving talent, who scored in the hit movie, Picture Me Dead. However, there is plenty of music brewing with this Houston, TX native being raised by gospel legend, Yolanda Adams. As Ayanna was getting situated in the independent contemporary R&B market, she initially highlighted her crisp soulful voice on a YouTube performance of Leonard Cohen pop classic “Hallelujah.” And Ayanna demonstrated her songwriting while teaming with multi–Billboard Hot 100 #1 producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
For her First Listen debut, “Show Me” reflects on Ayanna’s acting and fashion experience. In the colorful and fascinating video, the narrative from co-writers Dewayne Swan, Marty West, Obie Brown III, and Ayanna takes shape with a woman who is fired up about investing in a purposeful romance. Exceptional kudos are in store for the visual department, where pictures on Ayanna’s apartment walls provide the inventiveness behind the choreography. And the soundtrack flows with a smooth Caribbean flair co-produced by West & Obie Brown III, which accompanies Ayanna and her future partner matching their romantic intentions:
“Patience, what’s a little to be waiting/
When everything that you want is on the way right now/
All it’ll take, is all the little tiny steps/
That make your way to me yeah, ohhh (Show Me, Show Me).”
We welcome Taylor Ayanna to the SoulTracks pages and will wait to see what she offers next. Listen up to “Show Me.”
