(November 26, 2020) It seems that 2020 has been the year of Tanqueray Hayward. The Philadelphia singer has seemingly come from nowhere to become a favorite on the indie soul circuit. Her strong alto voice and her sense of melody have served her well and vaulted her in the view of her new adult soul fans.
In time for the holidays, Tanqueray has issued a new single with special meaning to her. “It’s Christmas” is a story that connects generations. Tanqueray tells us, “When my mother passed away my Christmas spirit was gone. She was the reason why I loved Christmas. Now that I am a mother I was able to appreciate Christmas through my daughter’s eyes. This song is the revival of my love for Christmas thanks to my daughter.”
The story of this ballad feels just right for a 2020 holiday season in which we perhaps appreciate our families a bit more.
