(September 8, 2026) We know R&B man Tank as a sexy soul man, but not necessarily as a dance master. But the performer, born Durrell Artaza Babbs, takes a different direction on his new single, and brings hot Detroit DJ MK and music legend Charlie Wilson along with him.
“Highlight” is an out and out dance jam, with a four-on-the-floor beat, heavily autotuned voices, and swirling electronics all around. And it works. The song’s lyrics tell of a man who is trying to find his way back into a love that perhaps he took for granted:
What I wouldn’t do
To be your highlight
To give honor
Take more pride in us
But let’s not kid ourselves; the lyrics are incidental to a song that is more about sweating on the dance floor. Mission accomplished: It is fun hearing MK take these two vets into a new scene, getting down with modern production and arrangements.
Check out “Highlight” below, and tell us what you think.
