(September 7, 2023) Tai Mistyque’s “Crazy” is more proof that romantic R&B balladry remains alive and vibrant. The Racine, Wi. native takes some of the modern production techniques such as the trap inspired drum and hints of autotune that younger generations of music fans might find appealing, and wraps them around lyrics that tell a story of undying devotion.
“Crazy” is a romantic conversation between Mistyque and duet partner Troy Tyler where each lets the other know how thinking about each other makes them feel. The accompanying video shows the two making a connection at a café where Mistyque is in the audience and Tyler is singing. The two make a harmonic and emotional connection.
Mistyque, like many of her creative peers, has a personal connection with her music and she has a songwriter’s penchant for painting a verbal picture of what music means to her. “If music was a person, they would be who I would tell all my secrets to,” she said.
