February 20, 2019 — Some artists have that rare ability to conjure up a special, separate universe in which their music is the sun. You’re drawn to it, you’re warmed by it, and you’d prefer never to leave. With her newly-released EP Clear, Summer Walker softly creates a quiet vibe so rich that you feel as if pleasantly dipped in thick, bourbon-infused honey.
We feature here a visual of Walker performing the entire 4-song EP live in what appears to be a magical treehouse in the woods. Summer’s vocals are nuanced, supple and on point; her band is gifted and in the pocket; and her music is organic, deep and melodic soul with jazz and blues accents.
