(December 4, 2019) Even though we are on the verge of the holiday season, DC Soul/funk duo Summer Dennis and Rhymes wants to keep the warm vibes flowing with their latest EP Second Summer and the lead single, “Circles.” Co-written by Summer and Fellow Rhymes member, Bill Moore, it is easy to see why this song has gained significant attention in recent weeks.

“Circles” is a song that speaks to how life works and evolves, yet gives hope to victory even when defeat may be likely. Summer uses her multi-octave range to explain “the things we learn come back in the end; if you lost the game before the next time you can win.” It’s a passionate and honest vocal that works well with the acoustic nature of the song. Driven by a clever guitar lick, and a memorable hook that floats “round and round,” this groove will not only have heads nodding and fingers snapping, but will have dance floors packed.
