One of the best examples came when pitched a demo to New Kids on the Block’s road manager that featured his singing group. While the demo of Paxton singing lead existed, the group actually did not. Still the road manager was impressed enough to ask Paxton for photos of the group. Paxton had to recruit friends to join and create the group out of whole cloth.
There have been ups and downs, but a combination of talent and moxie are among the reasons why Paxton persevered and thrived in what can be a brutal business.
