First Listen: Estelle returns to find a “Love Like Ours”

(June 19, 2017) — You know that type of couple: they’re holding hands, locking eyes, their limbs (and other body parts) are constantly intertwined. The two of them click like magnets and people around them usually want one of two things: a tutorial on how they do it or blindfolds to avoid the spectacle altogether. Maybe, instead of throwing shade and hateration, folks should find out the secret, which is what R&B’s Estelle and reggae hitmaker Tarrus Riley are singing about in the catchy island-ready track, “Love Like Ours.”

Hearing the two trade verses and harmonize makes one wonder why they haven’t collaborated before, singing from the perspective of a blissful twosome, taking credit for the euphoria of one another and telling exes to put more effort into finding their own special someone rather than knocking what they got; “How could you not see that we are in love, how could you talk just to talk that stuff? After all this time your feelings are torn, don’t hate on us on us.”

Delivered with just the right amount of sugar (and petty), “Love Like Ours” returns Estelle to the airwaves after a two year break, will introduce many to the talents of Tarrus, and could easily become a good-time groove for summertime.
