(May 28, 2020) Check out the names on the amalgamation of talent that is called SoulFest Collective, and it reads like a who’s who of great indie soul stars we’ve covered over the past few years on SoulTracks, from Cleveland Jones to Gwendolyn Collins to Iisma, Blez, Mycah Chevalier and more.
These acts teamed with ILive Music/Radio and The Virgo Lounge to create Soulfest 2020, an online festival of soul music. And now they’ve taken it a step further, providing the world with an inspirational track that is truly hitting the spot for us as we face the strange times around us.
“Optimistic” was a huge hit for The Sounds of Blackness in 1991, and it is now considered a classic joy-filled song of faith in God and each other. And the members of SoulFest Collective have shared their time and talent to cover this all-timer, bringing a fresh new life on a longtime favorite.
We’re proud to present “Optimistic” as our newest SoulTracks First Listen. Check it out below and let’s continue our support of soul music and each other!
