Smokey Robinson has been part of our lives for more than six decades, and his legion of fans have followed his career from his time leading the Miracles, to his 1970s and 80s Motown solo career, and beyond.
But among all of his highly recognized releases, Smokey has also quietly released some quality music that didn’t recieve the shine it deserved. That includes his excellent 2009 album Time Flies, which was only a modest commercial success. The album included a number of noteworthy songs, and none more beautiful than a duet with songstress India.Arie called “You’re Just My Life,” a striking ballad that became one of our favorite songs of 2009.
