(April 7, 2018) Sir Charles Jones is a self-made southern soul singer. He was born in Akron, and moved along with his family to Birmingham, Ala., where he taught himself how to write, produce and arrange music. Jones fell into the orbit of the great southern soul singer Marvin Sease, so his self-education must have also included lessons on finding a great mentor.
And while Jones made a name singing southern soul, he also sings gospel, jazz and fusion. With “My Everything,” his first release from his latest project, titled The Masterpiece, Jones has penned one for the steppers in the house. It’s likely that plenty of fans of southern soul music also like steppers music.”My Everything” is a md-tempo track that sports a smooth yet swinging with lyrics where Sir Charles Jones is lavishing praise on the special lady in his life, while the accompanying video is an ode to those touch tones of old fashioned romance.
