(February 22, 2016) There’s no way to listen to R&B music of the 90s without hearing some of the great music of the group SILK. Their silky smooth harmonies and great material gave us a lot of nighttime pleasure, and we’ve missed them! It’s been nearly a decade since we’ve heard anything on record from SILK, but now they’re back and sounding better than ever.
In March the quintet will be releasing a new album called Quiet Storm on the always-active Shanachie label, and it is everything that SILK fans love — with those harmonies front and center. They already have a new smash with “Love 4 U 2 Like Me,” and now they have another song ready for radio that is another sweet love ballad that we are simply loving. The group tells us: “’Only Takes One’ (glad that you are mine) feels like a song that could have been performed by the group Chicago. Its got a straight forward message and lots of harmonies. Once again Wirlie Morris (producer/songwriter) came through in a big way for Silk – we love it.”
