That’s not surprising coming from a gospel artist, but then she releases song like “Show Love,” the tune featured in this First Listen, and listeners will understand the track has a message that is both timely and timeless.
The first lyric Moore-Piper sings sums up where our world currently finds itself and what the assignment is: “In a world filled with hatred/in a world filled with fear/we gotta show love.”
Moore-Piper puts that message in a musical package that listeners will find easily accessible regardless of whether they are religious or not. “Show Love” fuses elements of jazz and neo-soul. That fusion has been an element in Moore-Piper’s previous projects like Are You Ready! Chapter 2.
