Sharon Rae North has opened for major soul and jazz artists like The Crusaders. But now she is ready to move to the headliner role with her new music.
Sharon has just released a new EP titled Sincerely Yours, produced by popular soul and jazz producer Chris “Big Dog” Davis. And she is getting attention for her cool interpretation of Sting’s “Sister Moon.” Sharon gives it a laid back feel that fits perfectly with the nighttime groove of Big Dog’s production.
She tells us about the song: “The lyrics to ‘Sister Moon’ are somewhat ethereal and mysterious. Even though they speak of a deep, dark loneliness – someone longing for love – they’re beautiful. I wanted to cover the song, which was written Sting, because the tune just spoke to my heart. It’s a lovely song.”
