First Listen: Shane Sato and Oli J will “Never Let You Go”

(December 18, 2025) Warm, heartfelt, meaningful – those three words aptly describe the latest single from Shane Sato, a Japanese-American multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer from Southern California.

His new song “Never Let You Go,” which features Nashville-based singer Oli-J on vocals, is a tender ballad of love, connection, and commitment. One could say that “Never Let You Go” is Shane’s musical vow to his special lady that he’s not leaving her side. That’s fitting because this song was created during an impromptu jam session last year, days after Shane exchanged marriage vows with his bride.

“Something ‘bout you feels so unreal, and I
Never thought that we would be here tonight
Love like this, please don’t disappear from my life
…I’ll never let you go, girl”

It goes without saying that “Never Let You Go” is heartfelt and meaningful based on the backstory alone. But warmth exudes in the song’s presentation – from the opening guitar to Oli-J’s smooth vocals that don’t overpower, to the sounds of the saxophone. All those elements combined make this track feel like it was made for a candlelit room or one with a fireplace aglow, an atmosphere that’s truly cozy.

“Never Let You Go” is the first single from Shane Sato’s upcoming sophomore album Wavelength, which is described as “an ode to collaboration, love, and the calming flow of water.” It’s expected to be released in the spring of 2026. This follows the success of his debut album Until We Meet Again, which was inspired by his late mother and earned more than one million streams.
