(August 19, 2025) Sensere has etched a name for themselves since the early 2000’s appearing on the iconic Bobby Jones’ Gospel TV showcase and through an impressive discography. In the process, they’ve earned several charting hits. Yet, the biggest confirmation of recent for this Miami, Florida based ensemble was through contemporary gospel pioneer Fred Hammond, who emphatically stamped his name on their latest full-length.
There is a lot to appreciate about emerging, innovative groups like Sensere and The Group Fire, that communicate scriptural hope through a multitude of genres. Previous First Listens included the sizzling funk echoing James Brown on their original track, “Win,” the risky, yet winning perspective of urban music royalty, Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Fantasy,” and a salute to Hammond’s group from the late ‘80’s & ‘90’s, Commissioned, entitled “Tis So Sweet.”
Last year, Sensere kicked of with a preview ofr their just released album, Fred Hammond Presents The Soul of Future Worship, Vol. 2 (Tribl/WrightSound M&E),with “That’s God…La La La” once again embracing the smooth, passionate vocal vibe of E.W.F. in celebrating the freedom of loving God. Now comes a new song from the album, the faith boosting “God Did It Again,” produced by Sensere’s founder, James ‘Jdubb’ Wright III. Think New Jack Swing and Bell Biv Deboe crash landing on the millenium praise pulpit as the voices and band swing full-throttle.
The gospel essentials eventually arrive in a pensive break quoting from the Psalms and emphasizing God’s strength to overcome. Though “God Did it Again” may require a few listens, Sensere’s genuine, intense energy and Biblical tidbits drop victorious nuggets for life’s down days. Check it out!
