First Listen: Sean Jones wants to love her “Body”

(September 1, 2026) It all started with Hi-Five’s “I Like the Way” for Canadian singer Sean Jones. He was in his ninth-grade French class, sitting at his desk and humming – he thought – to himself. A classmate heard Jones humming, raised her hand to get the teacher’s attention and said, “Sean can sing.”

The teacher called Jones to the front of the class and asked him to sing, and Jones sang Hi-Five’s 1991 hit. He got a positive reaction from girls in the class, and a future star was born. Jones went on to become a member of the Juno Award winning singing group In Essence and later embarked on a solo career where he’s shared stages with Stevie Wonder, Natalie Cole Macy Gray, and Eric Benet, just to name a few.

Next month, Jones will highlight two shows that will be a platform for his depth and range as a performer. Jones and a nine-piece band will hold the “Soul in the City” concert at the historic Casa Loma mansion and museum in Toronto. Later, Jones will explore the Marvin Gaye songbook in a show called “The Marvin Experience.”

And if that’s not impressive enough, Jones released a new song titled “Body.” The cut is an up-tempo, percussive homage to the magnetic attractiveness of the female body and his desire to lavish a specific woman with affection. “Body” is a song that allows Jones to deploy all the vocal arrows that are in his quiver. He can move from an assertive baritone a sweet tenor. Jones also shows that he hasn’t forgotten how to spit some rhymes as he includes a nice rap verse toward the end of the song.
