(January 21, 2021) Detroit based musician Saxappeal puts a lot to elements in his tune “Dance The Night Away,” a track from his latest recording Black Gold. The song sports the banging energy of a club anthem with thumping bass and pounding percussion. The tempo swells and then washes ashore, transitioning into a smooth R&B pace with Saxappeal’s improvisation on the axe. The silky smooth vocals of Kenny Wesley serve as a vocal invitation to the young lady whom he has spotted at the club to step onto the dance floor and stay there as long as  the DJ stays in the booth.

It seems that Saxappeal has been preparing his entire life for this kind of close-up. He first picked up the instrument when as a seven-year old and was playing before crowds a mere six months later. Now, 33, Saxappeal has honed his craft and the music world has taken notice. The Grammy Award nominated saxophonist has performed with vocalist and fellow Detroiter Dwele. He’s toured with K’Jon, Les Nubians and legendary singer, songwriter and producer Leon Ware, to name a few.

Saxappeal’s work on Black Gold shows all that he has picked up over the years and has brought to bear on his project. And you can get a taste of what he has to offer on “Dance The Night Away.” Check it out here.
