First Listen: Roxy5000 brings up the funk on “I’m Your Man”

roxy5000

(June 20, 2018) The multi-faceted artist known as Roxy Prince and his band Roxy 5000 have given us a track for the beach, skating rink, club and highway just in time for summer. “I’m Your Man” is an up-tempo stomper that sports that breezy analog jam, bringing to mind those joyously funky cuts that dominated radio in the late 1970s.

Bassist Winston Blissett provides an insistent bass line and his on the one bounce is matched by the Franceso Mendolia work on the drums. The track takes off from there, and foundation keeps heads bouncing and feet tapping. Roxy Prince has been making waves in the UK and France for the better part of a decade, and is making a strong move on this side of the pond with this track that will be featured on their upcoming album I’m All About Love, which is set to drop early next month. Check it out.
