(August 14, 2019) A few years ago, Portland, Oregon moved to the front of the class for emerging soul music cities, with the fantastic multi-artist album, Bespeak Love. Musician and singer Ronnie Wright was a driving force behind the album, which we honored in our end of year awards.
Ronnie followed it up last year with the excellent album a.k.a. Bespeak, and now returns again with a brand new single that reminds us that Portland’s scene is still hopping.
“All I Really Need is You” has elements of soul, blues and rock, with organ and electric guitar providing a muscular backdrop to an appealing midtempo number. Ronnie tells us “’All I Need is You’ is my Rock/Soul Anthem of true love. A call and response that sparks us to lean on each other and inspire a deeper connection. For without love this world does not exist…”
