(June 29, 2026) New Zealand soul singer Romi Wrights is new to SoulTracks, but she brings with her a familiar, old school sound that hearkens to the late 60s soul, sweetened with world music touches.
Wrights has been releasing singles for the past few years, thematically covering love found and lost, and the emotions surrounding it. And that goes for her latest single, “Rain or Shine,” from her upcoming album Andy.
“Rain or Shine” is the confession of a woman who is completely smitten, telling her lover that this relationship is unlike any she has ever experienced – that it is truly real. Punctuated by Chicago Soul-style horns, the song opens up nicely for Wrights’ attractive lead vocals.
“Rain or Shine” is yet another reminder of the great soul music being generated all over the world, and brings to our attention a talented young singer to watch. Check it out below.
