(September 12, 2025) In the music world, the Garden State of New Jersey has long been known and recognized as being one of the country’s (if not the world’s) finest hotbeds for multiple genres and greats, from Sarah Vaughan and Count Basie to Dionne Warwick and Frankie Valli. Adding to that list is Willingboro NJ-based veteran producer Regi Myrix. A master of several instruments, Myrix’s works have enjoyed international success, especially on the UK Soul Music chart’s Top 10 as well as providing music for film and TV (Netflix and NBC, to name a few).
Myrix’s latest single, “Attracted To You,” reunites the producer with vocalist Ty Juan (the two previously worked together on the album, Blak Buttah, Vol. 2). This midtempo groover finds Myrix on the keyboards, bass and drum programming while Ty lays down a solid vocal, telling the story about his attraction to that special someone. “Every conversation flows so free, like we know each other naturally…” This is a sweet “like-to-get-to-know-you”’ tune on all levels, as Ty lays out that the connection is more than physical. Myrix’s production stands out without overpowering the vocals, while Ty’s vocals float so effortlessly.
The team were smart to release “Attracted To You” for the fall season, as this floater would have been lost during the summertime. With September now here, add this onto your playlist and groove on. Well done, Regi and Ty.
