(August 24, 2026) Regi Myrix and Ty Juan give listeners a dose of double A-side soul with the release of “Take Me With You” and “Eyes Fell On You,” the two songs featured in two-for-one First Listen. The tracks reveal two sides of these artists, and in doing so take us back to those days when bands made albums with funky numbers that got folks to bop their heads, and those ballads that fuses soul, pop, and sweet songwriting.
“Take Me With You” is the funky number of this pair, and it hits hard. The cut opens with a bass line that intermingles with strings. The lyrics tell the story of a man who is transfixed with a woman, and he just wants to be in her proximity. Ty Juan is the storyteller on this tune. He shows chops that take him from a smooth conversational flow to an angelic high tenor/falsetto when he can’t hold his desire to follow where she leads.
“Eyes Fell On You” has that first dance type of feel. Ty Juan brings that heartfelt honesty that comes through on all great soul songs. He uses his voice to find the right balance between the soul stirring passion of the church and sensuality of a love song. The song tells the mystical story of a who knew he had met the woman of his dreams because he spent his life dreaming about her and preparing to be the man of her dreams.
Regi Myrix and Ty Juan have been making good music for a while, as anyone who heard their 2025 album that featured the song “Attracted To You” can tell you. The double A-side “Take Me With You” with “Eyes Fell On You” shows they are not slowing down.
